I felt that it was ironic that Danta was exiled & died alone with only his book lift on this earth mocking everyone. Now years later Sandow Birk’s finds a discarded-old copy of “the Divine Comedy” which gave him (Birk’s) the idea to make his project.

I also felt that by using a toy theater stage & puppets helped add to the fact that while Danta didn’t have strings to pull everyone around he did have the pen and the mind to toy with everyone and control how they acted within the story. (again he’s mocking everyone he felt was corrupted.)

Also before I end this I would like to commit on that pitcher used for this post. Like I pointed out earlier Danta died alone, while now the play is over and the only thing, person with in this pitcher is Danta. Alone. Abandoned.

I don’t think that Dante was mocking everyone when he wrote the his story. It is more like trying to get everyone and himself to see what could happen if they didn’t start acting right. the picture could be like he’s looking back at what had happened in the story he told and how he sees what was happening and how he could now get back to the right path but it won’t be easy.

The Dents that is close up to the left of the picture looks a little scared and confused. This could show that he sees what the story was telling.

I agree with worldunch, i dont think that dante was mocking everyone but i think he wanted everyone to realize the consequences of there actions. people tend to act before thinking and not really care how it affects anyone but themselves. i think dante wanted the world to see that you will have to take responsibility for what you do wheather it is here on earth or after you die.
